Arrive and Drive

Arrive and Drive

The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge has signed an agreement with Speedworks R&D to provide “Arrive-and-Drive” entries for drivers wishing to compete in the Series. SpeedWorks has several team Ford Mustang FR500S entries available for competition, and can also provide race-preparation services for drivers who already own the Ford Mustang FR500S and are looking for a team to manage race-to-race logistics and on-site event support.

SpeedWorks R&D, based in Indianapolis, is headed by Peter Parrott, who won the Indianapolis 500 three times as Rick Mears’ chief mechanic at Penske Racing. The company has a heritage of providing top-level motor racing capabilities in a variety of venues.

“We are excited to be involved with the Mustang Challenge because it is an excellent competition option for a wide scope of drivers,“ said SpeedWorks R&D co-owner Hayden Harris. “Having partners like Ford Racing and Miller Motorsports Park is really important to the long-term success for a series like the Mustang Challenge, and SpeedWorks is confident that we can provide our customers with a very competitive race car and excellent support.“

To participate, drivers need a NASCAR / Grand-Am license or equivalent. Drivers can complete training at the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School at Miller Motorsports Park’s Miller Performance Training Center to obtain the necessary credentials to compete. In some instances, SpeedWorks can also provide coaching and extra practice at the race tracks to help prep the drivers for race day.
