Getting StartedFirst, you will need a Grand-Am competition license. If you don’t have a license, here are two easy ways to obtain one: 1. If you have a competition license from another racing organization you can use it to apply directly to Grand Am. 2. You can visit the Miller Perfomance Training Center at Miller Motorsports Park. Or you can or contact Dan McKeever, the Director of the School at 435-277-7333. Upon completion of this you will receive a Grand-Am license. That’s all there is to it. Once you have your license you will need a FR500S car to race with for either individual races (one-offs) or the full season. You will have two options to get in a car: 2. You can rent a ride (seat) from our official series arrive and drive partner Speedworks who has several cars they use for this very purpose. In addition there are also many teams in the series that do customer car support and you can learn more about them in the Teams section of the website. THAT EASY,..... Let’s Get Started! |
I am a Principal in KPMG’s IT Advisory Services practice in Chicago, IL. I’ve been racing since I was 12 years old, running everything from Go-Karts in New Zealand, to Indy Lights. In looking for a series to run in 2008, we were immediately attracted to the Mustang Challenge sprint race format, in a car that has a V-8 and lots of history in road racing in the US. Favorite Track: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
Mustang FR500S competitors will utilize g-Force R1 tires & engineering technical support provided by BFGoodrich during Mustang Challenge weekends. |
