“I have always loved the throaty V8 Mustang sound with all its power and torque. To race these factory-built, Mustang Challenge cars is a dream come true. The 45th Mustang Anniversary at Barber will be awesome! |

I climbed mountains for 15 years in Colorado and Nepal, and in 2004 decided it was time for a change. I am passionate about racing because it requires us to be fully present, using all of our senses, much like climbing – only safer! After listening to my dreams of racing, my wife Marty, gave me a track weekend as a birthday present in 2004. It became like fire in my veins and quickly progressed to a fully race prepped 2.7 1974 911 in 2006, which I raced in SCCA, NASA and PCA. Early this year (2010), after owning two more Porsche race cars in the interim, I finally decided it really isn’t about the car for me – it’s about racing. It was time to put my energy into racing rather than keeping a car running. Mike McGovern, the Chief Driving Instructor at Bondurant, and I met when I attended one of their Advance Road Racing courses, After helping me set some goals for racing, Mike referred me to Karl Thomson and his Championship team at Compass360. I drove one Continental Tire race and knew I had found the right people to race with. Karl, Zach Lutz, Ryan Eversley and the rest of the Compass360 crew and drivers create a great environment for everyone from Grand Am rookies like me to Series Champions as they were again in 2009. I found the racer’s sweet spot! Zach and his father Bob Lutz, in partnership with Compass360, invited me to drive the #33 JC Concrete Mustang in the Series for the remainder of the season. The quality of the drivers, the competition and Ford’s FR500S Mustangs make this a great Series and a great racing opportunity. . I could not be more excited! Favorite Track: Road America
